According to the PSPA report – We drive e-mobility!, the global production capacity of lithium-ion batteries is to increase eightfold over the next five years, which creates an opportunity for Poland to maintain its leading position in the battery supply chain.
The report shows that Poland and Hungary already account for 9% of global production capacity, and their production is expected to increase significantly over the next five years, with Poland expected to double its production capacity to over 200 GWh by 2027. The report also highlights the growing demand for electric cars and their batteries, with analysts predicting that one-third of global car sales will be electric by 2030, with a market share of 50% by 2035.
